**Oral Presentation (25 points)

** The judges use the Oral Presentation as a means of substantiating
the students' work. The ability of the student to fully explain their project
significantly affects their award level.

Possible Judges' Questions
These questions are only possible questions and are not limited to the
following:
• What is your experiment question?
• How did you come up with this idea?
• What lead you to this hypothesis?
• Were there any other hypotheses that you also considered?
• How long did it take you to build the apparatus?
• How did you build the apparatus?
• How does your apparatus/experiment work?
• Why did you decide to collect this data?
• How many times did you run the experiment?  Why?
• What are your independent, dependent, and control variables?
• Did you take all data (run the experiment) under the same conditions, e.g., 
at the same temperature, lighting conditions, time of day.
• Is the conclusion consistent with the data?
• Do you think there is an application in industry for this knowledge 
(technique)?
• Were there any books that helped you do your analysis (build your apparatus)?
• When did you start this project? Or, How much time did you spend on this 
project?
• What is the next experiment to do in continuing this study?
• Are there any area that we not have covered which you feel are important?
• Do you have any questions for me?

Awards
The judges will be awarding one grand prize winning project per grade level. 
The grade level winners will receive a trophy and their names will be added to
the Science Fair Winners Plaque that is on display at the school.  Every
participant in the Science Fair will be awarded a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place
ribbon.
Any applicants with projects not meeting all the rules and guidelines
will not be eligible for the grand prize.
